02 October 2026 - Boo, Bounce & Bubble: Halloween Party Hire Ideas

Something Spooky Is Stirring at Colourful Castles...

The nights are drawing in, pumpkins are appearing on doorsteps and otherwise perfectly sensible parents are buying enormous bags of sweets for children dressed as skeletons. That can only mean one thing: spooky season is here!

If you're plotting a Halloween party in Luton, Dunstable, Harpenden or the surrounding area, you don't need a haunted mansion to make it work. A local hall, some suitably creepy decorations and a good selection of children's entertainment can turn an ordinary October gathering into a monster-sized party.

Bounce Away the Boos

A bouncy castle gives younger ghosts and ghouls somewhere to burn off some energy between trick-or-treating and investigating the sweet table.

Halloween doesn't necessarily mean every piece of equipment has to feature pumpkins, bats and cobwebs either. Dinosaur and superhero themes can work brilliantly with fancy dress, while colourful party-themed inflatables leave you free to create your own Halloween decorations around the venue.

Got a hall with a ceiling that's frighteningly low? Don't panic. We have low and very-low-height inflatable options designed specifically for venues where some of our taller bouncy castles won't fit. Send us the hall details if you're unsure and we'll help you work out which options are suitable.

A Soft Play Crypt for the Littlest Monsters

Toddlers may not be ready for the scarier side of Halloween, but they can certainly join the party. Our soft play gives younger children their own area to climb, crawl and play while older children get stuck into the other entertainment.

Add a ball pool and you've got another activity for little pumpkins who would rather dive into colourful balls than meet whatever is supposedly hiding behind the curtains.

We have several themed soft play options, so you can build the children's area around the interests and ages of the guests rather than trying to make every activity overtly spooky.

Release the Didi Car Coven

If you've booked a suitable indoor venue with a smooth hard floor, Didi Cars can add a completely different kind of mayhem.

Children propel the cars by moving the steering wheel from side to side, so before long you can have a miniature procession of witches, vampires, superheroes and dinosaurs wriggling their way around the hall.

Qualifying indoor hires over £85 include free use of five Didi Cars, making them particularly handy when you're building a Halloween party with several different activities.

Double, Double, Bubble Trouble

A Halloween party gives us the perfect excuse to get the Bubble Machine involved.

It may not produce an actual witch's potion, but hundreds of bubbles floating around can add another visual element to the party and inevitably leads to children trying to catch, pop and chase them.

Our commercial Bubble Machine is an add-on item rather than a standalone hire and can be booked with qualifying equipment orders worth at least £60. One litre of suitable bubble fluid is supplied, with additional fluid available if required.

Can You Connect Four Before the Zombies Arrive?

Not everybody wants to spend the entire party bouncing. Giant games can create a quieter competitive corner for children and adults who fancy testing their skills.

Our Giant Connect Four style game sounds easy enough: get four of your coloured markers in a horizontal, vertical or diagonal line before your opponent does. Then somebody blocks the move you've been planning for the last three turns and suddenly things become considerably more serious.

Pair it with Giant Jenga and you've got another challenge. How many blocks can you remove before the tower comes crashing down? Add a Halloween countdown and it becomes even more nerve-racking.

Turn Your Hall into Halloween HQ

Hiring a hall can be particularly useful for an October party. You're not relying on the weather, you've got space for decorations and tables, and you may be able to combine several activities within one venue.

A simple Halloween party layout could include:

  • A bouncy castle or bounce and slide as the main attraction;
  • soft play and a ball pool for younger guests;
  • Didi Cars on a suitable hard-floor area;
  • Giant games for children and grown-ups;
  • A bubble machine positioned somewhere appropriate;
  • A fancy-dress or photo corner;
  • Halloween party food and a trick-or-treat station.

Just make sure you check the hall dimensions and ceiling height before booking the inflatable. Those measurements are far more useful to us than telling us the hall is "pretty big". Ceiling beams, lights and other fittings also need to be taken into account.

Games for Your Little Pumpkins

You can keep the Halloween theme going without spending a fortune on additional entertainment. Try a few simple party games between turns on the hired equipment.

Mummy wrapping is an old favourite: split everyone into teams, provide toilet roll and see who can transform one unfortunate volunteer into the best mummy.

For Witch Says, simply give Simon Says a Halloween makeover. "Witch says flap like a bat", "Witch says creep like a spider" and "Witch says howl at the moon" should get suitably silly fairly quickly.

You could also hide lightweight Halloween decorations around the room for a pumpkin hunt, organise a monster-themed musical statues competition or award prizes for fancy dress. Categories such as funniest costume, best homemade outfit and best monster pose give more children a chance of winning something.

Don't Let Halloween Party Planning Give You Nightmares

October dates, particularly weekends and school holiday periods, can become busy. If you've already chosen your venue and know what you'd like to hire, booking ahead gives you a better choice from the available equipment.

We're particularly happy to help if you're struggling with hall dimensions. Tell us where the party is being held, the ages you're entertaining and approximately how much space you have, and we can point you towards suitable options.
